Winston Churchill Plaque
In 1900, after capture by the Boers at Frere during
the Anglo Boer war, Winston
Churchill escaped from Pretoria and made his way to Lourenco
Marques. Eventually
arriving in Durban, he gave a rousing speech on the stairs of
the post office.
